Many people across the whole world have been shocked and saddened by the sudden and unexpected death of the great King of Pop, the legendary Michael Jackson.
Although the circumstances of his death are still shrouded in mystery it is reported that he suffered from a heart attack, quickly losing consciousness and was unable to be revived.
This great pop legend of our time died on June 25th, 2009, aged 50, after suffering an unrecoverable cardiac arrest
Apparently his family had been concerned about his health for some time and this added together with the pressure of rehearsals for his final concert tour scheduled in July and regular doses of pain killing medications in respect of previous stage injuries, seems to have proved to be too much for his frail-looking body to take.
Determining the actual cause of death, however may have to wait for some toxicology tests to be carried out to see whether Michael Jackson’s system contained traces of any possibly toxic medication, drugs, or alcohol.
Michael Jackson was a great artist, in fact a a living legend who touched the lives of so many people with his unique voice and dance moves, that spanned a career that ranked him as one of the most profoundly influential artists of all time. His incredible and indelible imprint on popular music and culture simply cannot be denied.
He gave so many people joy and happiness through his art. For the many thousands who are tuning in and listening to his music at this sad time, it still doesn’t sink in for many, that he’s no longer here with us. Thousands are saddened by his passing

Starting early in the music business at the young age of 5, the seventh child of the Jackson family Michael first appeared on the scene with his brothers as The Jackson 5 and absolutely wowed the world with his performance. He was hailed as the world’s cutest, most talented performer as everyone fell in love with this small boy bursting out with such amazing talent. His rendition of “I Want You Back” sold 6 million copies worldwide as he quickly gained worldwide fame.
And as he got older and left the group to go it alone he continued to amaze and grew to become one of our most widely beloved entertainers with his individual and very special unique dance moves, music and singing voice.
It could be said that he transformed the world of music with his ground-breaking artistic videos, in particular the widely acclaimed blockbuster “Thriller” which still remains the world’s best-selling album of all time and is still in demand
Jackson’s style and dance moves, his signature ‘moonwalk’ and his unique sound have inspired many generations of pop, soul, R&B and hip-hop artists and street dancers. His music was his life.
It is so sad that all the many accusations and rumours of child abuse, added onto an already cruel media focus on his so called ‘wacky’ behaviours and changing appearance damaged his public image and caused him so much anguish. It’s such a shame that people focused on the “false rumors”, the charges that didn’t stick, instead of focusing on what he was really famous for – his great artistic talent and legendary contribution to music
Not many peple know but Michael Jackson was also a great contributor in other ways, raising millions of dollars for beneficial causes through his Heal the World Foundation. He will be remembered fondly by many and sorely missed. But his music and unmistakable influence continues to live on!

Michael Jackson is simply magnificent. The whole of the earth misses you a whole lot! No-one can argue that Michael hasn’t inspired pop music and pop culture everywhere. He was a music genuis and that he was the inspiration for a great number of artists that were to come after him. I’m certain Michael continues to making music and videos in heaven.
While we’re dabbling in the area of Michael Jackson Memorabilia, the Hip-Hop press has a responsibility to the culture it covers. It should challenge the culture while celebrating it. The Hip-Hop press shouldn’t lower their journalistic standards or “dumb down” just to sell magazines. I hate to say this, but some of the best pieces I’ve read on Hip-Hop have come from mainstream publications which really have no authority to speak on matters of Hip-Hop.
